In 2016 Gebbie & Wilson, Solicitors, Strathaven celebrated a significant milestone, for they have been serving private and farming clients in Lanarkshire and beyond for 200 years.

While much has changed in the last two centuries, the firm has retained at its heart a commitment to providing an excellent and comprehensive service to their agricultural clients and their families. With increasing regulation faced by farmers, as well as potential diversification opportunities such as renewable energy production, property development or leisure activities, Gebbie & Wilson remain  committed to ensuring  clients receive the best advice to maximise their opportunities.

Significantly, the firm strengthened the support it provides in the rural sector with the appointment in 2013 of Laura Boswell as an Associate dealing with Agricultural Law. Laura has been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in agricultural law, and she is the only such specialist practising in the Lanarkshire area.

Having built a strong reputation for over ten years working in the agricultural and rural property sector,  Laura has brought to Gebbie & Wilson experience ranging  from the purchase and sale of large estates, farms, forests and country houses, to advising on complex title issues, windfarm agreements, agricultural tenancy and crofting rights.
